Mission Statement
SCIrecovery.com is a gathering place for the SCI community (hence the .com). Our goal is to unify the SCI community to provide and develop support. Support in friendship, in information, and financially to those working to recover from or aid someone in the recovery from spinal cord injury, as well as those working to develop processes for cure.
Vision Statement
SCI recovery is driven by those who have experienced spinal cord injury. We are the front line striving towards the cure. As a body we can share our inspiration and increase our momentum, bringing on the day when we can dance in celebration of the end of debilitating SCI.

Kabir Kadre
Kabir Kadre has been a student of yoga and meditation since 1995, and from that time has made that the primary activity of his life. Within that context he has practiced a diversity of activities ranging from gardener to bicycle mechanic and from engineer to graphic designer. Kabir has been a chauffeur and a project manager, these job titles and many more have all been elements in his work to quiet the mind and open the heart.
Kabir received a C5-C6 spinal cord injury on November 19, 2002 when the Ford Excursion he was driving along Arizona's beautiful Highway 60 blew a tire, fishtailed into the ditch, and began to roll at 70 miles an hour. Two of his friends died that day, and one more walked away needing just a few stitches to her knee.
Carrying on the same positive attitude he had on the day of the accident, Kabir shifted seamlessly from his life as a graphic designer and student of meditation to full-time SCI recovery specialist. As soon as he was able to leave the hospital, Kabir immediately enrolled in the intensive exercise program offered at Project Walk near his home in Southern California.
"The support I've received from my friends and family has been invaluable to me, combine that with my dedication to meditation and the support and service of the staff at Project Walk and I've the perfect recipe for success in recovery!"
